Boilers

What is a boiler? Boilers are closed vessels in which fluid or water can be heated. Fluid or water can be used for various reasons: 1. Boilers got a pressure vessel in it, which is usually made up of steel or wrought iron. 2. Heat is created by use of various types of fuels like wood, oil, coal and natural gas. 3. Electric heat is created using electricity.

There are different kinds of Boilers:
A. Pot Boiler
B. Fire
C. Water
D. Sectional Boiler

Be careful using boilers of any kind because they are very dangerous. There are injuries attached to them. They can easily explode!

How do BOILERS work?

They have to be treated chemically to prevent boiler scale, to minimize corrosion to the feedwater and steam & condensate system, and improve boiler efficiency.

Boiler Scale is calcium carbonate that has precipitated from feedwater. It looks white and glassy in appearance. Hardwater contains calcium magnesium and minerals.

This is what happens when the feedwater tank is leaking:

Make sure your sulfite is fed to the feedwater tank and that it is being fed through an injection quill that reaches near the center of the tank.

The feedwater pump experiences corrosion and failure due to inadequate amount of sulfite being fed to the feedwater tank.

Boiler Carryover occurs when water suspended solids are excessive. Some solids may collect on the surface of a steam bubble and exit the boiler with the steam.

Boilers of any kind are very dangerous. They can cause harmful injuries and can easily explode!

How to Avoid Central Heating Problems

Do you take care of your air conditioning needs during the summer time when it is outrageously hot outside?

Where were you on July 21, 2011? That was the hottest day of the year. People were really cranking up their air conditioners to the highest temperatures to keep cool from over 100 degrees with high humidity that day. Some people were out and about doing business as usual. For example, Rockland Web Design went to a Trade Show Seminar that day in Manhattan and it was hot on the floor of the office location. Lots of businesses and homeowners, renters and just regular people sitting in a cool location were basically conserving energy. They were sitting in front of a computer, TV or even listening to music while regulating their A/Cs.

This brings us to the reasons why it is so important to take care of your health by using your Air Conditioner correctly and taking care of your family.

Here is what is recommended for taking care of your health and family with Air Conditioning:

All air conditioning parts, from the ductwork to the air conditioning refrigerant, need the air conditioning filter to be clean and replaced to ensure you’re getting the very best in central air conditioning.

To keep clean and healthy at home with your A/C, please make sure that you change your filters every month or every two months. If your a/c is running 24 hours a day and seven days a week, then it is imperative that you care for your A/C each month. Doing this as a routine in your monthly chores and not waiting until you see dust matted on the air conditioning
filter will ensure you and your family the very best health as well as a smooth running air conditioning system . Dust particles can not always be seen so even if you see a little dust on the air filter , clean it as you normally would.
